We are always on the look out to find new ways of reducing the impact
of our operations. One of these ways is to make sure all of our
unavoidable food wastage is sent to a biogas plant, which converts it
into methane gas used to create electricity.
Packaging
We remove all packaging that is not absolutely necessary in transporting our products safely and hygienically. The outer packaging we do use is made from 65 per cent recycled material, which is 100 per cent recyclable and biodegradable.
Electricity
Creative Foods signed up to the Food & Drink Federation’s Climate Change Levy Discount Scheme in 2001. This means we have agreed to reduce our energy usage by 10 per cent in ten years.
We are pleased to say that so far we have reached every milestone and are looking forward to achieving the target.
Water usage
Because water plays a part in all of our cooking processes we employ all possible methods to reduce its wastage. Through our investment in new cooking technologies and stringent housekeeping we have reduced our water usage by 5000m3 a year - that’s the
amount needed to fill one and a half Olympic sized swimming pools.
